The next seminar for migrants was held

The Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society has been conducting Azerbaijan language courses for migrants from different countries such as Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Syria and Ukraine who settled in Baku city. The National Society also has been regularly carrying out different humanitarian and medico–social activities for migrants attending these courses. In addition, the representatives of the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society organize seminars on different topics (such as dissemination of information on the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, health and care, humanitarian relief, Tracing Service of the Az.RC, youth and volunteers and etc) for migrants. One of such kind of seminars took place at “Women and Youth” Center of the UNHCR on the 13th of February 2017. A total of 30 young migrant women participated at the seminar. During the seminar  “Community based health” program coordinator of the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society Matanat Garakhanova informed participants about the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, activities carried out by the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society in different fields, particularly activities in the filed of health.

During a practical work at the seminar the participants formed 7 small groups and  implemented tasks on 7 fundamental principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement in these groups. A specialist of Migration department of the Az.RC and Azerbaijan language teacher Sona Hajiyeva gave her recommendations regarding this task to participants. The results of group works were demonstrated by participants. The Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society intends to continue conducting such kind of seminars throughout the year.
