Next meeting with non-governmental organizations participating in the international programs in the field of health in Azerbaijan.

In 2004, the Country Coordination Commission to Fight HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria was established by the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan Republic. The Commission includes non-governmental organizations in the country implementing the international programs in the field of health. The activities of non-governmental organizations implementing the international programs in the field of health in Azerbaijan   are coordinated by the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan Republic. Since 2013 the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society is a member of the Country Coordination Commission to Fight HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. “Community based health” program coordinator of the AzRC Matanat Garakhanova and an employee of Migration department of the AzRC Sona Hajiyeva represent the National Society in the Country Coordination Commission to Fight HIV/AIS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. In addition, since 2010 the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society is a member of the Working Group consisting of NGOs on Tuberculosis. Since 2016 the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society is a member of TB Azerbaijan Coalition. Guided by Health Policy of the IFRC the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society is involved in fighting tuberculosis activities in the country and carries out a wide range activities in the filed of fighting tuberculosis in Azerbaijan.

On 6 March 2017, there was held next meeting of Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan Republic with NGOs participating in the international programs in the field of health in Azerbaijan. “Community based health” program coordinator of the AzRC Matanat Garakhanova attended the meeting and made a presentation on activities carried out by the National Society in the field of fighting tuberculosis over recent years. During the presentation projects implemented by the National Society in the field of fighting tuberculosis with the support of the International Committee of the Red Cross and within the framework of cooperation with the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan Republic have been particularly noted. The presentation also included information on activities and projects of the AzRC in other areas such as Disaster Preparedness and Response, Tracing and Migration.
