Event devoted to World Hepatitis Day was held in Azerbaijan

On the 27th of July 2017, an event devoted to 28 July-World Hepatitis Day was held in Baku city. This event was organized by the Public Health and Reforms Center under the Ministry of Health of the Azerbaijan Republic in cooperation with Humanitarian department of Sabunchu district authority, Sabunchu district Youth and Sport Division and Sabunchu local branch of the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society. The event took place in a centralized library No.1 situated in Sabunchu district of Baku city. The representatives of local organizations and educational institutions in Sabunchu district as well as young people were invited to participate at the event. During the event a representative of the Public Health and Reforms Center Shahla Mirzazadeh informed the participants about the activities of the Center in elimination of Hepatitis and raising awareness of people of hepatitis. Shahla Mirzazadeh noted that Public Health and Reforms Center implements these activities in cooperation with different local organizations. “Community based health” program coordinator of the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society Matanat Garakhanova informed the participants about the theme of World Hepatitis Day 2017 “Eliminate hepatitis” and statistical data on hepatitis ill people globally. Matanat Garakhanova noted that each person can be involved in actions towards eliminating of hepatitis. A representative of the Public Health and Reforms Center doctor Hafiz Ibrahimov informed  about viral hepatitis and answered to the participants’ questions on viral hepatitis.

At the end of the event the participants took photo against the background of posters on hepatitis produced by the World Health Organization. Visual aids prepared by the Public Health and Reforms Center were also distributed to the participants.
